How To Have A Relaxing Disney World Trip

When most people think of a Disney World vacation they think of an exhausting theme park vacation. But trust me, at Disney World that does not have to be the case! If we were to go on what people consider a relaxing vacation to a beach resort for a week, we would get bored! So to us Disney World can definitely be relaxing too! Today I wanted share a few things we that make Disney a fun but relaxing vacation for us!

How to have a relaxing Disney World trip

Sleep in and stay out late!

Now this goes against popular opinion, but we don’t like to get up and be at the parks an hour before it opens. When we are on vacation we like to sleep in and then get up and enjoy breakfast before we hit the parks. Then we enjoy staying out later when the parks are lit up at night! But if you naturally get up early and enjoy being first in the parks, then by all means do it! You will definitely avoid lines being at the park at rope drop! My point is to do whichever you prefer. If you don’t want to be first at the park then don’t! If you like taking a mid day break then do that too!

We love seeing Pandora and night and love enjoying Happily Ever After while not being too exhausted from being first in the park.

Make dining reservations

I highly suggest making dining reservations at a couple of table service restaurants. Disney has some amazing restaurants and it’s so nice to just take a break and relax while enjoying a good meal! We love trying new restaurants at Disney and it’s some of our favorite memories enjoying a meal together at Disney World!

We love enjoying the show during our favorite meal at Raglan Road!

Use fastpass for your favorite rides

If there are some rides that you for sure want to go on then make a fastpass for them! That way you don’t have to worry about waiting in a long line for them. We always fastpass our must do rides and then we can just ride whatever else we want or that has a short line without having to worry about waiting in a long line for our favorite rides.

We love Flight of Passage so we always make at least two fastpasses that way we don’t have to worry about waiting a couple hours in line or getting there right when the park opens to ride it!

Stop for a drink and relax

If you are in Epcot and you grab a drink, stop at a table and enjoy it! Instead of walking around with your dole whip in Magic Kingdom, just stop and sit down and enjoy it and take in the moment! Some of the best moments are when we just stop and enjoy a drink together!

Lay by the pool

I will confess that we never do this, but nothing seems more relaxing than enjoying a drink by a Disney World hotel pool! Disney hotels have the best pools and I always wish we had an extra day to just lay by the pool.

Enjoy the shows

Disney World parks have a lot of shows you can enjoy! Some of our favorites are Impressions de France in Epcot and Beauty and the Beast in Hollywood Studios. It’s the perfect time to just relax and enjoy a good show!

Just go at a slower pace!

I know when at Disney World it is so easy to just want to see everything and keep going without stopping. But I am here to tell you it is so much more enjoyable and you will actually see more if you just slow down and really take in all the details! Don’t be one of those people rushing from place to place!   You will not see everything and that won’t be a problem because you will want to go back anyways!

Relaxing on the people mover enjoying the views!
